Jong Kook Baik PhD comes from South Korea and currently lives in England. He is a multiple award-winning international lecturer specializing in micro-acupuncture systems, particularly Korean Hand Therapy (KHT).
Jong initially studied KHT in the early 1990s in South Korea and earned a diploma in this field. He then studied for four years at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York (United Kingdom), where he obtained a diploma in acupuncture. He continued his education at the University of Wales, earning a master's degree in acupuncture, and later completed a PhD in Traditional Chinese Medicine (Huangdi Neijing) at the University of Wales in Lampeter. He completed his doctoral work under the prestigious Professor Bao Zhao Ju at the Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Shenyang, China.
In 2016, he was awarded the title of Doctor of Acupuncture by the World Federation of Acupuncture and Moxibustion Societies (WFAS) in Beijing. He continued his education at the Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where in 2018 he received the title of Clinical Specialist in Acupuncture.
Jong worked for 14 years as a member of the palliative care team at a hospice in Darlington. He was also a visiting professor at the Southern California University School of Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture. He has authored several books on Traditional East Asian Medicine and published numerous articles in scientific journals.
Since 2005, Jong has been running his own educational academy, Jong Baik Education, based in Darlington, United Kingdom. At the same time, he operates a thriving clinic in Darlington and lectures on various topics around the world.
